4—What is a Salt Marsh?
This page describes some of the plants and animals that you'll find in a salt marsh. Read the first three sections "Where are Marshes Located? What are Their Features?," "Salt Marsh Cordgrass, " and "Salt Marsh Ecology: What Lives in the Salt Marsh?" The photograph of the fish isn't identified, but it's called a "mummichog." If you put some bread in a gallon plastic milk bottle, weight it down with rocks, and lower it into the marsh water on a string, you might catch one. If you do, don't handle it and be sure to put it back.
