6—Lava Land!
Just as the surface of a pond will freeze when winter cold sets in, so it is with lava flows. This picture is of a big lava flow that has cooled on the outside to form a hard shell over the still hot lava beneath it. Be sure to scroll down the window so you can see the red hot lava. Those scientists up there better hope that shell doesn't break!
