9—Presidential Libraries
All modern presidents build libraries as a depositing place for memorabilia about their terms of office and their papers. Many presidents directly supervise the building and operation of their libraries. For example, until his death, it was not uncommon to look in the window of Harry Truman's office at his library, and see him working at his desk. The desk and his office still remain in the library as they did the last day he worked before his death in 1972.

Most presidential libraries are located in the city the former president called "home": the Carter Center is in Atlanta, the Truman Library is in Independence, the JFK Library is in Boston, and so on. What sorts of memorabilia can you find at these libraries? Check the links and find out!
